Moss privacy policy

Effective: August 26, 2026 · Updated: September 24, 2026

English translation of the current Chinese policy.

1. Data storage

The current version of Moss does not require an account and has no developer-operated user server.

The following content that you create or edit is stored only on your device by default:

Moss does not automatically upload this core data to a developer-operated server.

2. Photos and local images

When you choose a gear photo, Moss uses the photo selection features provided by iOS. Selected images are used to display gear and are stored in the app's local storage.

When you choose to save a generated gear sharing image to Photos, Moss requests permission to add photos and writes only the sharing images you choose to save.

Moss does not automatically read your entire photo library or upload selected gear photos to a developer-operated server.

3. Backup and restore

You can choose to export and restore local backups. A backup may contain gear data, gear lists, trip data, app settings and local gear photos.

You control saving, moving and sharing backup files. Moss does not automatically upload backups to a developer-operated cloud service.

Keep your backup files safe.

4. Feedback and suggestions

The app's Feedback entry opens a third-party Feishu form. You may choose to submit:

Except for fields explicitly marked required, you decide what to provide.

Feishu's form service may process feedback. The Moss developer uses it to investigate issues, provide support, improve the experience and assess feature requests.

Do not submit passwords, identity document numbers, payment information or unrelated sensitive personal information.

To request access to or deletion of feedback you submitted, use the support page and describe the relevant submission.

5. Third-party services

The current app audit did not identify integrated advertising, user behavior analytics, third-party sign-in, crash reporting or user tracking SDKs.

If you choose to open the Feishu feedback page, that page is provided by Feishu. Its own service and privacy rules may also apply to data processing there.

6. Network access and tracking

The current production code has no developer-operated account system or backend API, no advertising tracking, and no evidence of tracking across apps or websites.

Moss does not sell personal data or use core local app data to build advertising profiles.

7. Children's privacy

Moss is not a service specifically designed for children. If you believe children's personal information that should not be retained was submitted through feedback, please contact us through support.

8. Data security

Moss reduces unnecessary data transfer through local storage. You are responsible for protecting access to your iPhone or iPad, local Moss data, exported backup files and information you choose to submit through feedback.

9. Policy updates

If future features introduce accounts, cloud synchronization, online servers, analytics, advertising or other changes to data processing, this policy will be updated accordingly.

10. Contact

Support: Moss support

You can also submit questions through Feedback in the app.
