Support

Moss support

Moss helps you manage hiking gear, prepare lists and pack for trips.

1. Where is my data stored?

The current version works locally. Your gear, lists, trips, settings and local gear photos are stored on your device by default. No account is required.

Export a backup before uninstalling the app or changing devices if you want to keep your data.

2. How do I back up my data?

Open Me → Export backup, then use the system options to save or share the file.

Keep important backups in iCloud Drive, on your Mac or another storage location you trust. Moss does not create cloud backups automatically.

3. How do I restore a backup?

Open Me → Restore beside Local data. Select a valid backup previously exported from Moss and follow the confirmation steps.

Restoring replaces the current Moss data on this device. Check that you have selected the correct file before continuing.

4. Why does some public gear have no image?

Moss provides illustrative images for selected public gear where they help identification. Other gear uses a default graphic.

This does not affect adding gear, editing weights, lists, trips, packing, backup or restore.

5. Can I use my own gear photos?

Yes. Once gear is added to your collection, you can choose a local photo. Your photo takes priority over the public illustration and is stored locally.

6. How do I change a weight?

Open Gear and select an item to edit it. Grams and kilograms are supported.

7. How do I report a problem?

Please describe the problem, the page where it happened, whether it can be reproduced and the steps to reproduce it. Screenshots or recordings can help. You may leave contact details if you would like a reply.

Do not submit passwords, identity document numbers, payment details or unrelated sensitive personal information.

8. Feedback

Submit feedback

The feedback form has bilingual Chinese and English questions and options. You can write your feedback in either language. The form is also available from Feedback in the app.
